NAPAPIRI designed and installed the new official Olympic ice rink for FC Barcelona. Covering approximately 1,800 m², the project resulted in a world-class facility that complies with the strict standards of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF).

FC Barcelona is one of the most iconic sports clubs in the world. Beyond football, the club is internationally recognized for its excellence across multiple disciplines, including ice hockey and figure skating.
To support its elite athletes and maintain the highest sporting standards, FC Barcelona required a modern Olympic ice rink capable of hosting professional training sessions and official competitions.
The challenge
An Olympic-standard rebuild
The existing facility needed to be replaced by a completely new Olympic-standard ice rink.
The project required the construction of a 1,800 m² rink that fully complied with IIHF regulations while integrating professional dasher boards, advanced refrigeration technology and sustainable energy solutions.
The challenge was not only technical but also environmental, requiring a solution that combined top-level performance with long-term efficiency.

A heavy-duty refrigeration system was installed together with heat recovery technology, allowing waste heat to be reused for facilities such as locker rooms and supporting infrastructure.

- the complete cooling floor and piping system;
- professional IIHF-compliant dasher boards;
- official game markings;
- the integration of the FC Barcelona logo into the ice surface;
- refrigeration equipment and technical infrastructure;
- energy-efficient systems designed for long-term operation.
The result was a turnkey facility ready for professional use.
