Grand Prix de France 2026 opens the ISU season in Angers on 23-25 October
Angers becomes the world capital of figure skating again: the 2026 Grand Prix de France takes place from 23 to 25 October at the Angers IceParc and opens the 2026-27 ISU Grand Prix season, the elite circuit of figure skating.
The first of six stops
After Angers, the circuit travels to Kelowna (Skate Canada International, 30 October – 1 November), Shenzhen (Cup of China, 6-8 November), Everett (Skate America, 13-15 November), Helsinki (Finlandia Trophy, 20-21 November) and Tokyo (NHK Trophy, 27-29 November). The top six in each discipline qualify for the Grand Prix Final, to be held in Chongqing (China) from 10 to 13 December.
Elite skating on the IceParc ice
The Angers IceParc, opened in 2019 and home of the Ducs d’Angers, already hosted the 2023 and 2024 editions of the Grand Prix de France. The French Ice Sports Federation organises the event, with medals in the four disciplines: men, women, pairs and ice dance. Skaters announced for Angers include Japan’s Kao Miura, Italy’s Nikolaj Memola and Estonia’s Aleksandr Selevko, according to the preliminary assignments published by the ISU on 16 June 2026.
What championship ice demands
A Grand Prix event demands perfect ice: smooth, level and at a stable temperature for three days of competition.
