Nashville Yards swaps synthetic ice for real ice: “Rink Under Broad” opens November 21

News

Nashville Yards, the 19-acre mixed-use development in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, has announced its 2026 holiday programme, branded “Holiday Central”. Its headline novelty is a real-ice skating rink called “Rink Under Broad”, which opens on Saturday 21 November 2026 and will be open seven days a week throughout the season.

The change is significant: last year the development piloted a synthetic rink and, after that experience, in 2026 it is going with real ice. The rink will be sheltered from the weather under Broadway, will be half the size of an NHL rink, tickets will go on sale shortly and it can also be reserved for private events.

The “Holiday Central” programme runs from 21 November 2026 to 3 January 2027 and includes the lighting of a 40-foot (12-metre) Christmas tree on 28 November, a market of small local businesses, free photos with Santa and holiday movie nights. Many of the activities will be free and open to the public.
