Thirty years on the ice. Planet Ice, the UK’s largest ice rink operator, marks its 30th anniversary this September with a full month of giveaways, birthday offers and a nostalgic nod: from 17 to 20 September, admission drops back to \u00a35 \u2014 exactly the price skaters paid when the brand was founded in 1996.<\/p>\n
Founded in Birmingham, the company has grown from a single rink into the UK’s largest ice leisure operator, welcoming millions of skaters, families and ice hockey fans through its doors. The anniversary arrives amid expansion, too: the fully refurbished Basingstoke rink reopened on 1 September, and two brand-new arenas are underway at TraffordCity (Manchester) and Dudley.<\/p>\n
The celebrations culminate in December with Music & Magic On Ice, live at Planet Ice Milton Keynes on 5 December and Planet Ice Bristol on 12 December, featuring music from Boyzlife and Quill alongside stars of Dancing on Ice. “Reaching our 30th birthday is a huge milestone,” summed up Chief Operations Officer Heath Rhodes. “We wanted to celebrate it with the people who have made these three decades possible: our customers.”<\/p>\n
A rink that lasts thirty years is built and maintained like a business.
